Sexyy Red To Make More Appearances on WWE’s NXT

According to a report from Fightful Select, rapper Sexyy Red received high praise for her conduct at Tuesday night’s WWE NXT TV tapings. She was described as very easy to work with and is expected to make more appearances on NXT TV following her hosting gig at Battleground. One source likened her ongoing presence to that of Poppy.

This week’s WWE NXT TV tapings were described as having a “chaotic environment” backstage, as several crew members arrived late on Tuesday.

The internal title for this week’s episode of WWE NXT was “Sexyy Red Is NXT.”

Sexyy Red is making significant strides in pop culture. Her 2024 single “Get It Sexyy” peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100, and her latest EP, “In Sexyy We Trust,” features a high-profile collaboration with Drake. It was only a matter of time before she ventured into new arenas, which she did on May 28 by stepping into the wrestling ring on a Tuesday night episode of WWE NXT, opposite superstar Tatum Paxley.

The episode began with Sexyy Red in the crowd, but fans were surprised when she became part of the storyline involving the new NXT Women’s North American Title. To the booming beats of her own music, she grabbed the microphone and announced her role as the guest host for the upcoming Battleground live event, set for Sunday, June 9, at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Teaming up with NXT general manager Ava, she unveiled the North American Title belt, proudly displaying it around the ring. However, not everyone welcomed her with open arms.

Tatum Paxley unexpectedly appeared, attempting to snatch the title from Sexyy Red, but was thwarted by Michin’s timely intervention. Sexyy Red had teased her appearance on NXT through a tweet, hinting that fans might see her deliver an RKO. Although she deleted the tweet, fans eagerly anticipated seeing her in action. While she didn’t get physically involved this episode, there’s a strong chance she might deliver on her promise when she hosts Battleground.

Sexyy Red has been eyeing a spot on WWE for a while. In October 2023, she tweeted directly at the organization, expressing her desire to join in reference to a video of superstar Jay Uso. The Usos responded, promising to involve her as a “special guest.” It took some time, but they ultimately fulfilled their promise. Sexyy Red has previously praised wrestlers like Trick Williams and the Meta-Four, and fans are excited to see what she will bring to the ring next.
