Young Thug is pushing back against an attempt by Atlanta prosecutors to revoke his probation following controversial remarks he made on social media.

On Wednesday (April 2), the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office filed a motion arguing that the rapper should be sent back to jail, alleging he made threats against a police detective.

Thug, who is currently serving 15 years of probation as part of his plea deal in the YSL RICO case, is now at risk of losing his freedom again. Prosecutors claim his “continued presence in the community under probationary supervision presents a clear and present danger to public safety and undermines the rule of law.”

At the center of the dispute is a now-deleted post from Thugger’s social media in which he called Fulton County Investigator Marissa Viverito the “biggest liar in the DA office.” Viverito is currently testifying in a high-profile gang-related murder case connected to Lil Baby.

Authorities argue that Thug’s post led to direct threats against Viverito and her family. They further claim that the addresses of Viverito and her parents were shared online, alongside threats directed at District Attorney Fani Willis. As a result, prosecutors are urging the court to revoke his probation and place him back in custody immediately.

Young Thug, however, has denied any wrongdoing. Taking to X, he wrote:

“I don’t make threats to people. I’m a good person. I would never condone anyone threatening anyone or definitely participate in threatening anyone. I’m all about peace and love.”

His attorney, Brian Steel, also dismissed the allegations, stating:

“This motion is baseless. While intimidation and threats of violence are never appropriate, Jeffery Williams has done nothing wrong. We look forward to seeking a dismissal of this petition.”

If the court sides with the prosecution, Thug could face a lengthy prison sentence. A hearing has yet to be scheduled.
