Jonathan Majors Admits Strangling Ex-Girlfriend in Newly Released Audio
In 2024, actor Jonathan Majors was sentenced to a domestic violence intervention program and probation after being convicted of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
The past year has been tumultuous for Jonathan Majors. After being found guilty in December 2023 on two counts of assault and harassment against his ex-girlfriend, professional dancer Grace Jabbari, the actor faced both legal and professional consequences. Following the conviction, Marvel Studios severed ties with Majors, a decision he later admitted left him “heartbroken.” In April, the court sentenced him to a 52-week domestic violence intervention program in Los Angeles and probation, avoiding jail time.
Disturbing Audio Emerges
Earlier today, Rolling Stone released newly unearthed audio allegedly recorded in September 2022 after a confrontation between Majors and Jabbari. In the recording, Majors is heard acknowledging his violent actions.
“I’m ashamed. I’ve never been aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman — I aggressed you,” Majors says in the clip. Jabbari responds, “You strangled me and pushed me against the car.” Majors replies, “Yes, all those things are under ‘aggressed,’ yeah.” As of now, Majors has not publicly addressed the leaked audio.

Hollywood Reporter Interview
The release of the audio comes just days after Majors’ interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he spoke candidly about his conviction, his dismissal from Marvel, and his future prospects. He recalled learning about Marvel’s decision to fire him immediately after his sentencing.
“He goes, ‘I’m just going to tell you now. That way you’re not surprised, and you can start processing it. They fired you. Marvel fired you,’” Majors said. Despite the setback, Majors hinted at a potential new project, describing it as “a pretty wicked story.”
During the same interview, Majors opened up about his own past trauma, revealing he was a victim of childhood sexual abuse. “From people who are supposed to look after you, in the absence of a father,” he shared. “I was messed up. … I told my mom, ‘It’s not even an issue, Mom. I just want you to know.’ And now we can all grow and learn from it because it was something within our family.”
As reactions to the leaked audio continue to unfold, Majors’ future in Hollywood remains uncertain. The public and industry observers will undoubtedly be watching closely to see how the controversy further impacts his career.
