ASAP Rocky If Found Guilty Could Receive 10-12 Year Sentence

Prosecutors are preparing to recommend a 10-12 year prison sentence if ASAP Rocky is found guilty in his ongoing trial. Reports indicate that a verdict could be reached as early as today, marking a significant turning point in the case. Previously, the rapper faced the possibility of a 24-year sentence, making this recommendation a notable shift. The trial, which has captured widespread attention, reached a critical juncture last Friday when closing statements were delivered. Rihanna, who has been a steadfast supporter of Rocky and the mother of his two children, was present in court.

Deputy District Attorney John Lewin, however, took issue with Rihanna’s presence, calling it a strategic move. “They brought in two adorable children yesterday for closing argument. They haven’t been here any other time. And you have to ask yourselves, why children that age would be here in a situation like this? You are not allowed to consider how this might affect Rihanna and his kids. We are all responsible for our own actions in the world.”

Despite the weight of the accusations, Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, remains confident in his client’s innocence. “I feel great… this case went in perfectly for us. I believed in Rocky’s innocence from day one. Rocky’s maintained it by virtue of the fact that he’s turned down a plea that would’ve been– they offered him like six months. He’s obviously facing a lot more than that. I think that shows you his resolve and his belief in his innocence and belief in the jury system. So, this case, it should be a five-minute acquittal.” Still, he acknowledged the unpredictability of jury deliberations, adding, “you just never know what a jury’s thinking.”

At this stage, the prosecutor’s sentencing recommendation is one of the few confirmed details, as jury deliberations are ongoing. The delay in updates is due to the President’s Day holiday. As for the charges, ASAP Rocky is facing two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. The case stems from a 2021 incident in which he allegedly shot at his former friend, ASAP Relli. Rocky has maintained that the firearm in question was merely a prop gun. His fellow ASAP Mob member, ASAP Twelvyy, testified in support of this claim, stating, “[Rocky] walked around with a prop gun. Like a starter pistol, like a prop gun, as his defense.” He further asserted that he had seen Rocky carry the item on multiple occasions.

With deliberations underway, the hip-hop community and fans await the final outcome of the trial. If convicted, ASAP Rocky’s fate could be sealed for the next decade or more.
