Young Thug Responds To Snitching Allegations With Denzel Washington Quote
Young Thug is at the center of controversy once again as snitching allegations swirl online, but the Atlanta rapper doesn’t appear shaken by the backlash.
On Tuesday night, Thug shared a quote from Denzel Washington on his Instagram Story in what seemed like a response to critics. The quote, originally reported by Spiritual World, captured Washington saying “Who cares?” when asked about being canceled.
The actor made the remark during a conversation with director Spike Lee while promoting their recent film, Highest 2 Lowest. Washington expanded on his stance, explaining:
“I don’t care who’s following who. You can’t lead and follow at the same time, and you can’t follow and lead at the same time. I don’t follow anybody, I follow the heavenly spirit, I follow God, I don’t follow man, I have faith in God. I have hope in man, but look around, it ain’t working out so well… You can’t be canceled if you haven’t signed up. Don’t sign up.”

The Snitching Allegations
The backlash against Young Thug intensified after a resurfaced audio clip appeared to show him mentioning Peewee Roscoe during a police interrogation. Social media quickly erupted with accusations of snitching.
Roscoe himself, however, defended Thug in a video message:
“That’s what you’re supposed to do. When you go in the interrogation room, that’s what you do. You tell ’em, ‘We sold Dwayne Carter weed.’ What the fck is wrong with you? A statement is this right here… He did what a tax-paying citizen do, a real street n**a. He kept it silent, kept it overly real. Really, tried to pull me out the hole.”
Despite Roscoe’s defense, speculation only grew as several alleged jail calls from Thug leaked online. In the calls, the rapper is said to have criticized fellow artists including Gunna and Kendrick Lamar.

Young Thug Pushes Back
Amid the controversy, Thug turned to social media to address his critics directly. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he warned fellow rappers against dissing him, claiming it would only worsen the rap community’s problems.
“Bashing me only goin f*ck that rap community up more, I’m the glue to this fake ass game,” he wrote.
Fans had mixed reactions. Some accused Thug of hypocrisy, pointing to his own treatment of Gunna, while others urged him to focus on releasing his long-awaited album “UY Scutti.”
What’s Next For Young Thug?
As the YSL RICO case continues to unfold, Young Thug’s every move remains under a microscope. Between the resurfaced interrogation clip, the leaked jail calls, and his cryptic responses on social media, the rapper has become a central figure in the ongoing debate over snitching in hip hop.
Whether Thug can shift the narrative back to his music may depend on how he handles the controversy moving forward — and whether “UY Scutti” finally drops.
