In a recent interview with GQ, published on November 11, he set the record straight and admitted that while some of the allegations held a grain of truth, they were exaggerated.

“Yes, I do pee in a bottle,” Dwayne confirmed. “It happens.” For the Fast Five star, this time-saving habit allows him to stay on schedule during filming, especially when he’s far from his trailer. He doesn’t shy away from this unique solution either, saying, “I’ve said it a thousand times: ‘Hey, if you want the truth, come and ask me. I’ll tell you straight up.’”

As for his alleged tardiness, Dwayne acknowledged occasional late arrivals but denied extreme claims of being eight hours late, as reported by The Wrap. “Yeah, I’ve been late,” he admitted. “But not by that amount. That’s just bananas—ridiculous.”

RED ONE RUMOR

Despite accusations that his delays inflated the film’s budget by $250 million, Dwayne dismissed the claims as “nonsense.” His Red One colleagues backed him up. Director Jake Kasdan defended the actor’s professionalism, noting, “He never missed a day of work. Sure, he’s busy and can be late sometimes, but that’s Hollywood. I’ve worked with him on three big movies, and he’s been nothing but respectful to everyone on set.”

Dwayne’s bottle solution, though unorthodox, isn’t limited to movie sets. It’s a habit he’s embraced at the gym as well. In a 2021 Esquire interview, he explained that he reuses old water bottles for convenience. “These are bottles I’m not using for anything else. The gyms I train in usually don’t have bathrooms—they’re like iron paradises: hot, sweaty, and basic.”

Staying hydrated means he often needs a bathroom break mid-workout. “I probably need to go a couple of times each workout,” he said, “so I grab a bottle.” In 2017, he even unwittingly showed a glimpse of his workout routine—including the bottle—during an Instagram video. “Yes, that’s my bottle of pee,” he admitted in the clip. “I go hardcore when I train.
