The Game Confirms “The Documentary 3” and Teases Fall Release Date

The west coast rap legend is returning to his roots.

The Game, always active in the music scene and known for his feuds with other artists, is now focusing on new music. Recently, he appeared on the Tacos and Shawarma podcast and announced that “The Documentary 3” is in the works. He also teased a potential release date, hinting at a quick turnaround. If everything goes as planned, the album will drop on the anniversary of a previous installment.

On the podcast, the Compton rapper revealed exclusive information, stating, “I’m definitely gonna start the new album and I ain’t told anybody that. But yeah, The Documentary 3, I’m gonna go in hard.” When asked about the pressure of meeting high expectations, The Game acknowledged the challenge but expressed confidence. “I’m up for the challenge,” he said. “It’s gonna be tough.” The most exciting detail he shared was the release date. “I’ma drop it the same day that the other one dropped,” he noted.

This news is thrilling for West Coast fans, even if the exact date remains unclear. A look at previous release dates shows that “The Documentary” dropped on January 19, 2005, and “The Documentary 2” was released on October 9, 2015, with the deluxe “The Documentary 2.5” following on October 16. This suggests a fall release for the new album, possibly aligning with “The Documentary 2.” However, a January 2025 release would mark the 20th anniversary of the original, which also makes sense.

The Game has faced challenges in 2024, including a failed attempt to start a feud with Rick Ross and subsequent legal troubles. Additionally, he faced criticism in L.A. for his absence from Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out show, sparking rumors of a rift due to his friendship with Lamar’s rival, Drake. The Game clarified on IG Live that there is no bad blood between him and Lamar.
