Surveillance Video Captures Shooting Involving Sauce Walka & Sayso P

A newly released surveillance video shows the tragic shooting in Memphis that left rapper Sauce Walka injured and his artist, Sayso P, fatally shot.

Graphic Footage Surfaces

Sayso P, whose real name was Letorian Hunt, lost his life in the incident. Sauce Walka suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is currently recovering.

The Memphis Police Department (MPD) held a press conference on March 22, confirming the targeted nature of the shooting.

“This appeared to be a targeted shooting incident,” MPD Assistant Chief Don Crowe stated. “The victims were outside by a vehicle when a suspect vehicle pulled up. Multiple individuals exited, fired shots without any conversation, then fled the scene in a white vehicle.”

Details From the Footage

TMZ obtained the video on March 25, revealing the chaotic moments outside the Westin Hotel, located across from the FedEx Forum. The footage shows two gunmen emerging from a white Dodge Charger and approaching a black Cadillac Escalade. Without warning, they opened fire while a third armed suspect remained near their car. One person, believed to be Sauce Walka, is seen fleeing the scene as the attackers return to their vehicle and drive away. The surveillance video contains no audio.

Police Reassure the Public

“We want to assure our community and visitors that Downtown Memphis is a safe place,” Crowe emphasized. “This was not a random act of violence. Early evidence suggests the suspects and victims were acquainted. The MPD is dedicated to identifying those responsible using all available technology and downtown surveillance footage.”

Sauce Walka Speaks Out

Following the incident, Sauce Walka addressed the tragedy in a video shared on social media on March 23. Wearing a blood-stained bandage on his leg, the Texas rapper expressed his grief and resilience.

“R.I.P. Sayso P,” he said. “I love Memphis. I love y’all. I have no hard feelings.”

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to bring justice for the victims and their families. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Memphis Police Department.
