Snoop Dogg Signs Deal With NBCUniversal for Film, TV & Streaming Projects

Snoop Dogg is taking his talents to a new level—this time behind the camera, too.

The rap icon has secured a multi-year creative partnership with NBCUniversal through his production company, Death Row Pictures. The expansive deal covers projects across film, television, sports entertainment, and streaming platforms, with NBCUniversal gaining first-look rights to all scripted and unscripted content developed under the banner.

One of the first projects to emerge from the deal is a feature-length biopic chronicling Snoop Dogg’s legendary life and career. The film is already in development and marks a key milestone for Death Row Pictures. As part of the new arrangement, the production company will now be headquartered at Universal Studios.

“Not everyone has the courage and vision to see what Death Row Pictures can bring to the table,” Snoop said, per Variety. “But Donna and the NBCUniversal team have always understood, which is why I am proud to call NBCUniversal my new home. The Dogg has officially moved into the neighborhood, ya dig?”

NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios Chairman Donna Langley echoed the excitement: “Audiences around the world love Snoop and connect with his unparalleled showmanship and artistry. Those of us lucky enough to be in his orbit also know his incredible business acumen, endlessly creative spirit, and the unapologetic authenticity that he brings to every project. There’s only one Snoop, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to our roster of creative partners.”

Snoop’s Next Chapter: A Gospel Album

Snoop isn’t slowing down musically, either. He recently announced a new gospel album titled Altar Call, set to drop on April 27 via Death Row Records. Taking to Instagram, he shared, “April 27, I’m dropping a gospel album on Death Row Records. It’s called Altar Call. You heard it first. A gospel album, April 27. God is good. Won’t he do it?”

The 21-track project will feature an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Jamie Foxx, Robert Glasper, Denaun Porter, Jazze Pha, Charlie Bereal, Jane Handcock, and October London. Snoop is dedicating the album to his late mother, Beverly Tate.

With big moves in both Hollywood and music, Snoop Dogg continues to expand his empire while staying true to his roots.
