Shannon Sharpe Sued for $50 Million Over Alleged Sexual Assault & Abuse

Shannon Sharpe, the Hall of Fame tight end turned media personality, is facing serious allegations after an anonymous woman filed a $50 million lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and rape. The lawsuit, filed Sunday (April 20) in Nevada, outlines alleged incidents that reportedly occurred in late 2024 and early 2025.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the woman — listed as Jane Doe — claims she met Sharpe in a Los Angeles gym in 2023, when she was 20 years old. She alleges the two entered into a relationship that soon became emotionally abusive and controlling.

Doe accuses Sharpe of offering to pay for cosmetic surgery and becoming increasingly demanding, allegedly insisting she spend time at his Beverly Glen mansion on his schedule. “He demanded complete control over her time and body,” the plaintiff’s attorney Tony Buzbee said in the lawsuit, adding that Sharpe expected her presence at his home “at his command, whenever he called.”

Buzbee, known for handling high-profile cases — including recent lawsuits involving Diddy and Jay-Z — now represents the anonymous plaintiff in this case.

The lawsuit includes chilling allegations, including one instance where Sharpe allegedly shouted at the woman in a room where a gun was present. When she attempted to share her location with friends on her phone out of fear, Sharpe allegedly noticed and threatened her life. “If you ever do that again, I will f***ing kill you,” he reportedly told her while grabbing her by the neck.

Despite these alleged threats, the woman says she continued living with Sharpe and even moved with him to Nevada in the summer of 2024. She claims she tried to end the relationship after Sharpe’s controversial Instagram Live incident, which made headlines — but that attempt allegedly led to further assault.

The plaintiff states the first incident of rape occurred in October 2024 at her apartment, and the second in January 2025 under the pretense of a Christmas and birthday celebration.

As of now, Shannon Sharpe has not made a public statement addressing the lawsuit or the accusations.
