Toronto police responded to reports of gunfire at a plaza near Weston Road and Albion Road around 5:20 a.m. on May 19, 2025 as reported by CP 24 News. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with gunshot wounds inside a residential unit located above a business in the plaza. The place also doubled as an after hours party for locals. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later confirmed the victim’s identity as 42-year-old Lloyd Hastings.
While the investigation is still ongoing, police have not released any suspect descriptions or details on possible motives. Acting Detective Sergeant Munish Dhoum said it is too early to determine whether the shooting was targeted, and urged anyone with information to come forward.
