Rihanna Confirms Pregnancy and Teases New Album Update
After nearly a decade away from the music scene, Rihanna is slowly giving fans reason to believe her highly anticipated return is finally on the horizon.
Over the past nine years, the global superstar has been focused on expanding her empire—from raising her two sons, RZA and Riot, to running her billion-dollar Fenty brand, all while navigating public attention surrounding A$AP Rocky’s legal battles. Music, understandably, has taken a backseat—until now.
RIHANNA INTERVIEW
Back in February, Rihanna spoke to Harper’s BAZAAR about her creative process since the release of her acclaimed 2016 album, ANTI. She admitted that although she’s spent significant time in the studio, it wasn’t until recently that things began to click creatively.
“I’ve been in the studio the whole eight years. But it didn’t hit me. I was searching for it. I went through phases of what I wanted to do. ‘This kind of album, not that album.’ I know it’s not going to be anything that anybody expects. And it’s not going to be commercial or radio digestible. It’s going to be where my artistry deserves to be right now. I feel like I’ve finally cracked it, girl!” she said enthusiastically.
For fans—affectionately known as the Navy—this was a major signal that new music may not be far off. While Rihanna hasn’t committed to a release date, the recent momentum suggests that 2025 could mark the return of her voice to the charts, even if it’s just with a single or an official album announcement.
RIHANNA PREGNANCY REVEAL
During a brief red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight at the 2025 Met Gala, Rihanna doubled down on her commitment to music—even as she confirmed a major personal update: she’s pregnant with baby number three.
Asked whether her growing family would affect her artistic output, she replied with a laugh:
“No… maybe a few videos, but… I can sing.”
The singer wore a form-fitting gown that proudly revealed her baby bump, marking the public’s first glimpse of her newest pregnancy. While she didn’t share how far along she is, Rihanna assured fans that she’s doing well.
“I’m good. I’m shockingly feeling OK and not too overwhelmed at the moment. […] I’m tired. I’m excited.”
Conclusion:
With a third child on the way and a renewed sense of creative direction, Rihanna seems poised to make her long-awaited return to music—on her own terms. While fans continue to wait for R9, these latest updates are her clearest signs yet that something special is in the works.
