Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductee, Richard Rodwell And Singer, Actor Richard “Morpheus” Walters Drop “Was It All For Nothing
Toronto, On – Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductee, Richard Rodwell (Dream Warriors, Maestro Fresh-Wes, Michie Mee) and Actor/Singer/ Songwriter, Richard “Morpheus” Walters (Degrassi Next Class, HBO’s IT: Welcome To Derry, Law & Order Toronto) have teamed together to create, “Was It All For Nothing” a thought-provoking, haunting song/narrative about black consciousness. The artists waited to release their first collaboration until Black History Month, for the full impact of its purpose. “Was It All For Nothing” passionately highlights the underlying concerns of the black community. Rodwell and Walters creativity is raw and honest.
The two multi-talented artists met by chance at the IMSTAFEST songwriting competition. After discovering a shared interest in how important music is to the Black community and how it makes a difference, they decided to work together. Both knew “Was It All For Nothing” had to be powerful and haunting. Walters, a respected, seasoned actor is used to saying the words scripted for him, but this time, the words were his and the passion ran high. “Was It All For Nothing” had to be right, no excuses. Rodwell and Walters knew they were addressing deeply embedded issues in their community. The responsibility of the journey weighed heavily. “Was It All For Nothing” leads to the awakening and understanding of today and the of possibilities of tomorrow.
