R. Kelly Reportedly “Terrified” After Alleged Prison Overdose
Recent reports indicate that R. Kelly is experiencing extreme fear and emotional distress while incarcerated, following an alleged overdose incident in prison. According to his legal team via TMZ, the disgraced singer broke down in tears during a recent phone call, expressing grave concerns for his safety.
“He’s emotional, and he cried intermittently on the phone call,” stated attorney Nicole Blank Becker, emphasizing his “fear for his life.”
Earlier this month, R. Kelly was reportedly hospitalized after an alleged overdose in prison. His legal team claims he was placed in solitary confinement and subsequently given an increased dose of medication just two days prior to feeling “extremely ill” and being rushed to the hospital. While he has since been released from the hospital, his legal team suspects foul play.
Overdose Concerns and Allegations of Foul Play
“That means that, within two days of the filing of his motion, Bureau of Prisons officials administered an amount of medication that significantly exceeded a safe dose and caused Mr. Kelly to overdose, putting his life in jeopardy,” alleged attorney Beau B. Brindley. He further stated, “They gave him an amount of medicine that could have killed him.”
This alleged overdose occurred shortly after Kelly’s legal team filed an emergency motion demanding his immediate release. In this motion, they made a shocking claim: terminally ill Aryan Brotherhood gang leader Mikeal Glenn Stine allegedly informed Kelly that authorities had offered him freedom in exchange for killing the singer. Stine reportedly backed out of the alleged plot at the last minute and instead warned Kelly. However, this decision allegedly came with severe consequences, as another Aryan Brotherhood member has now reportedly been ordered to kill both Stine and Kelly.
R. Kelly was convicted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges in 2021, followed by additional convictions in 2022 for crimes including child pornography and enticing minors for sex. He was sentenced to 31 years in prison, with a scheduled release date of December 21, 2045.
