Nicki Minaj Claps Back at Stephen A. Smith for Defending Jay-Z

Nicki Minaj tells Stephen A. Smith to “Sit down, ugly.”

Kendrick Lamar recently announced that he will headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans this February, sparking excitement among his fans after an impressive year. However, the news also ignited backlash, particularly among those who felt that Lil Wayne, a New Orleans native, was snubbed. Among the critics was Nicki Minaj, who took to social media to blast Jay-Z and Roc Nation for the decision.

“Denying a young Black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego,” Nicki wrote in part. “Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!!” Her fiery remarks caught the attention of Stephen A. Smith, who addressed her comments on his show.

During the September 11 episode of his podcast, Stephen A. Smith responded to Nicki Minaj’s comments. While he initially approached the topic respectfully, acknowledging Nicki’s success and influence, he criticized her for attacking Jay-Z. “Every time we turn around, it’s something, Nicki,” Smith said. “You disagree with the decision… but do you have to address a brother like that?” He referred to Nicki’s accusation that Jay-Z prioritizes money over the culture that propelled him to fame.

Nicki didn’t hold back when she responded on social media, even playfully confusing Smith with Shannon Sharpe, who recently went viral after accidentally going live on Instagram during an intimate moment.

“Oh look y’all, another paid laughy taffy alien who only gets off his knees to turn around & back dat azz up. LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Stephen, we don’t care. Ima tell u right now. We don’t care. If I say more it’ll be your fault. Sit down ugly,” she tweeted. “Stephen, weren’t you just moanin & groanin on live in your bedroom? LMFAOOOO. And since we’re here in women’s business…ladies; when should men just shave their full head? Should it take its normal course like SAS’s sassy ass or should he look into lace fronts?”
