Nicki Minaj Blossoms At Met Gala With Floral Design
Nicki Minaj stuns people at the Met Gala!
The renowned 41-year-old artist flawlessly embodied the essence of the “Garden of Time” motif at this year’s prestigious fashion extravaganza on May 6. She dazzled in a bespoke yellow fit-and-flare minidress by Franceso Risso for Marni, as reported by Vogue, bedecked with vivid 3D floral embellishments. The ensemble boasted oversized blossoms adorning the shoulders and scattering across the bodice and skirt, creating a captivating floral spectacle.
Completing her ensemble were coordinating pointed-toe heels in the same sunny hue and a petite chain-strap bag fashioned from the dress’s fabric. Adding a final flourish to her look, Minaj adorned her blunt bob, accented with bangs, with a colorful floral crown nestled atop a chic top knot.
This garden-inspired ensemble marked Nicki Minaj‘s seventh appearance at the Met Gala, a tradition she commenced in May 2013 under the theme “Punk: Chaos to Couture,” donning a striking navy blue Tommy Hilfiger gown complemented by bold red lipstick and a gilded necklace. Over the years, she has elevated her Met Gala presence, showcasing diverse styles such as a custom Moschino creation in 2016, a resplendent duchesse satin kimono top in 2017, and a regal deep-red Oscar de la Renta gown in 2018.
MISSED COVID-19
The following year, Minaj’s absence was notable as she battled COVID-19, having to forgo the event’s festivities. However, she made a triumphant return in 2022, donning a belted black Burberry gown adorned with tiered tulle and feathers, accompanied by leather leggings and a sleek black baseball cap. Her ensemble was accentuated by striking jewels that adorned her face and body, as she expressed her admiration for designer Riccardo Tisci, formerly of Burberry.
This year’s Met Gala theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” sets a dreamy tone, with attendees expected to embody “The Garden of Time.” However, the theme has garnered some confusion, as acknowledged by Anna Wintour in an interview with Today on May 6, where she expressed regret for any ambiguity surrounding the theme’s interpretation.
