Fans of Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé are in a heated online exchange, with accusations flying that Minaj took a subtle jab at Beyoncé amid her ongoing feud with JAY-Z.

The back-and-forth began when Nicki Minaj responded to claims that she had shaded Beyoncé in an Instagram post, allegedly aimed at diverting attention away from Minaj’s issues with JAY-Z. Recently, the BeyHive and Barbz have been trading jabs on social media, analyzing the timing and content of the artists’ recent posts.

On Monday (September 23), Beyoncé shared a series of sultry images on Instagram to promote her new whiskey brand, SirDavis. The post was followed by another set of caption-less photos featuring the brand, sparking speculation among fans. Around the same time, Nicki Minaj shared a cryptic message on X (Twitter) that read, “Robot on timing,” which she later deleted.

The seemingly unrelated posts stirred controversy online, with Nicki’s fans, the Barbz, suggesting that Beyoncé’s posts were an attempt to distract from Minaj’s recent comments about JAY-Z. Minaj had previously aired grievances about not being compensated for her Tidal deal and had taken issue with JAY-Z‘s role as the Super Bowl headliner.

On the other hand, the BeyHive interpreted Nicki’s “robot” tweet as a veiled dig at Beyoncé. One Beyoncé fan wrote, “That lady deleted that tweet because she knows who she can play with. Beyoncé is not one of them.”

Nicki Minaj, however, was quick to shut down the speculation, responding to a TikTok video that accused her of calling Beyoncé a robot. “This is an absolute lie,” she commented.

She further addressed the situation with two tweets, urging, “No. For real. Stop.” Minaj added, “Not every day be a dikk. Some days suck one. Goodness. Enough already. #GagCitySanFrancisco who’s ready?!?!!!”

Despite the recent tension surrounding her comments about JAY-Z, Minaj and Beyoncé have shared a positive relationship in the past. The two collaborated on hit tracks like “Flawless (Remix)” and “Feeling Myself” back in 2014. Earlier this year, Beyoncé even sent Minaj a thoughtful, handwritten card thanking her for gifting some Pink Friday Nails.

The card read: “Onika, I just received your nail collection and I love them. Thank you so much for thinking of me and congratulations on your launch and the tour. Love, Beyoncé.”

This situation seems to be another chapter in the ongoing drama between fanbases, but it remains clear that both Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé have mutual respect for each other.
