New Orleans Not Jay-Z Has Final Decision On Halftime Show
Many people are online upset over Lil Wayne’s exclusion from Half Time Show.
Despite outrage from fellow artists ranging from Mase to Cam’ron to Nicki Minaj, the Grammy’s art director states Lil’ Wayne would have been a mistake to book as headliner.
Shaun Harrison says, “I’ve “worked with” Lil Wayne before for Grammy performance and personal feelings that would be the biggest mistake ever putting him as the headliner for the biggest performance of the year The Super Bowl. He showed up to zero rehearsals we didn’t even think he would make the performance then last minute he was in the building and ran on stage for the performance and ran off back into oblivion lol.”
👀| While many have disputed that Lil Wayne deserved the next Super Bowl halftime spot over Kendrick Lamar (based on it being in New Orleans), Grammys art director Shaun Harrison has spoken out to say that would’ve been a “big mistake,” based on previous experiences.

According to Brian Zisook, the co-founder of Audiomack, it’s the Super Bowl, Apple Music, and its sponsors who look at eight categories when selecting the Halftime Show performer: availability, superstar status, popularity, global impact, reach, live performance, a catalog of hits to fill 12-15 minutes, and new music on the horizon.
It has also become apparent that the hosting city for the Super Bowl gets a short list of performers and then decides who will be apart of the half-time show. However, some fans still want to know if Jay-Z submitted Lil Wayne to the possible acts for the event.
Was Wayne on the short list that Jay-Z and committee submitted? If not, then it’s still on Jay-Z and the committee, because why NOT include Wayne on that “short list” of acts submitted to the city of NEW ORLEANS?

Funkmaster Flex also made a commentary on the hate Jay-Z is receiving over the Lil Wayne exclusion. “We gotta stop blaming Jay-Z for everything,” the Hot 97 host tweeted. “The NFL has never cared about people of color. (Before Jay-Z) (Before [Colin Kaepernick]).” he added, a nod to the scrutiny the league faced when Kaepernick started taking a knee during the National Anthem as a means of protest.
Funk Flex continued, “The NFL accomplished turning us against each other! This wouldn’t of happened in Taylor Swift’s hometown! Lil Wayne legacy already written in stone!”
