Netflix Announces Vince Mcmahon Documentary Series
The Netflix docuseries about Vince McMahon, the former WWE chairman and CEO, is set to premiere on September 25.
Titled Mr. McMahon, the series will consist of six one-hour episodes. According to the official synopsis:
“‘Mr. McMahon’ chronicles the rise and fall of Vince McMahon, a controversial businessman and co-founder of WWE. From transforming WWE from a small regional operation into a global entertainment juggernaut to facing explosive sexual misconduct allegations that led to his resignation, this six-part series delves deeply into McMahon’s life and his enduring impact on the franchise. Compiled from over 200 hours of interviews with McMahon (before his resignation), his family, business associates, iconic figures in wrestling history, and the journalists who exposed the allegations against him — filmmaker Chris Smith (‘Tiger King’) and executive producer Bill Simmons (‘30 for 30’) present an unfiltered, no-holds-barred exploration of one of sports entertainment’s most enigmatic personalities.”

VINCE MCMAHON ALLGEGATIONS
The docuseries was first announced in October 2020. Nearly two years later, McMahon retired from WWE amid a board investigation into allegations of misconduct. However, he made a surprising comeback in early 2023 to oversee WWE’s sale to Endeavor, which merged WWE with UFC under the TKO Group banner. Shortly afterward, McMahon resigned from the TKO board of directors following a lawsuit from a former employee alleging sexual abuse and trafficking.
Series director and executive producer Chris Smith shared his vision for the project: “The goal behind ‘Mr. McMahon’ was to peel back the layers and reveal the real Vince McMahon, hidden behind the public persona he created. Throughout the four years of production, the story took unexpected turns, culminating in deeply troubling allegations. The final documentary provides a detailed and nuanced portrait of the man and the complicated legacy he left behind.”
Alongside Smith, Bill Simmons and Zara Duffy serve as executive producers for “Mr. McMahon.” The series is produced by Library Films in collaboration with Ringer Films.
