NBA YoungBoy Could Face 10 Years in Prison After Federal Gun Charge
The rapper is expected to plead guilty in the case.
NBA YoungBoy has been no stranger to legal troubles in recent months. Earlier this year, he was arrested at his home in Utah, connected to an alleged prescription drug fraud scheme. At the time, he was already on house arrest, awaiting trial for a federal gun charge stemming from a 2020 incident during a music video shoot in Baton Rouge. During the shoot, police reportedly found him in possession of a 9 mm handgun and a .45-caliber Glock. As a convicted felon due to a 2016 shootout, he is prohibited from owning firearms.
According to reports from WAFB, NBA YoungBoy, born Kentrell Gaulden, plans to enter a guilty plea in the federal gun case. His attorney, Drew Findling, recently filed paperwork requesting the case be moved from Baton Rouge to Utah, possibly for convenience, as the rapper is also facing charges in Cache County and Weber County, Utah.

If the case is successfully transferred to Utah, NBA YoungBoy will be required to follow through with his guilty plea. Should he fail to do so, the case will return to Louisiana. The 24-year-old rapper could face up to 10 years in prison, along with fines and a period of supervised release. However, the exact outcome remains uncertain, and it’s possible the case may work out more favorably for him.
News of his expected guilty plea comes shortly after Chief Judge Shelly Dick agreed to delay the case, allowing higher courts to provide guidance on how federal gun laws apply to it. How do you feel about NBA YoungBoy’s decision to plead guilty, and what are your thoughts on the possibility of him facing a decade behind bars for these charges?
