Michael Jackson Biopic Gets Moved To Fall 2025 Release

The Michael Jackson biopic, titled Michael, was originally set for April 18, 2025 release.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film will explore the life of the King of Pop, showcasing his triumphs, struggles, and iconic performances. The biopic aims to present a comprehensive and honest portrayal of Michael Jackson‘s life and career, focusing on both his creative genius and personal challenges.

Deadline is reporting that the biopic will no longer premiere around Easter, but will debut in the fall of 2025 in October. Universal is handling the overseas release of the movie that will star a Jackson family member.

JAFAR JACKSON AS HIS UNCLE

Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s nephew, will play the role of Michael, making his acting debut. The cast also includes Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson and Nia Long as Katherine Jackson. Notably, young Juliano Krue Valdi will portray the younger version of Michael Jackson.

ALSO CHECK OUT NIA LONG AS KATHERINE JACKSON

The Michael film will open one week before Disney’s Jared Leto Tron: Ares tentpole and will compete with Miramax/Paramount’s Channing Tatum true crime movie, Roofman.

Fans online are astute when it comes to the entertainment business and one X user noticed the release date coincides with Halloween. Michael Jackson just recently hit number one for Halloween with his timeless hit song Thriller.

Others are concerned if it will beat the entertainment and quality of mini series “The Jacksons: An American Dream” that aired on national television during the early 90s that starred Angela Bassett as Katherine Jackson.

The reason for the delayed Michael Jackson biopic’s release date is to make the movie eligible during the upcoming awards season, as the production is convinced that it will be a big hit.
