Memphis Bleek Reacts to Dame Dash’s Claims About JAY-Z Ghostwriting

Memphis Bleek Responds to Dame Dash’s Claims About JAY-Z Ghostwriting for Him

Memphis Bleek has shut down recent claims from Dame Dash suggesting that JAY-Z acted as his ghostwriter during his time at Roc-A-Fella Records.

Dame Dash, a co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, made the controversial remarks during a recent interview. He suggested that Bleek’s loyalty to JAY-Z stemmed from Hov allegedly writing his lyrics. In response, Memphis Bleek has dismissed these assertions, labeling Dash’s comments as exaggerated.

After fans brought the claims to his attention on social media, Bleek didn’t hold back. “He wilding right now, bro,” Bleek wrote, accompanied by two crying-laughing emojis. Responding to another fan’s question, he sarcastically added, “I wish—maybe I’d still be lit.”

Bleek further joked about the notion of ghostwriting: “And people said I was whack [thinking emoji], so if Jay wrote for me, he whack too.”

Although he laughed off the claims, Bleek isn’t letting the conversation end there. He revealed plans to address the topic—and much more—on his upcoming podcast, Roc Solid Pod.

“These types of conversations Dame sparking are exactly why #RocSolidPod gotta drop!!” Bleek shared online. “2025, we’re talking about all this s### [crying-laughing emojis].”

Dash initially aired the ghostwriting allegation during an interview on The Art of Dialogue. “I don’t think Bleek wanted to take over [Roc-A-Fella],” he claimed. “I don’t think he had the ability to. Jay was writing a lot of his rhymes. So if Jay retired, that meant he was out of business as well.”

He continued, “I can understand Bleek’s loyalty to Jay because he had Jay as a ghostwriter.” While admitting, “I probably shouldn’t have said that,” Dash added, “I didn’t think it was a secret. I thought everybody knew.”

Memphis Bleek’s forthcoming podcast promises to delve deeper into these allegations and provide his unfiltered perspective on the Roc-A-Fella legacy.
