Megan Thee Stallion’s Legal Team Shuts Down Tory Lanez’s “New Evidence” Claims
Megan Thee Stallion and her legal team are forcefully pushing back against what they call “false narratives” surrounding the 2020 shooting incident involving Tory Lanez. The Houston rapper, who recently referred to Lanez as a “f**king demon” on social media, is once again speaking out as Lanez’s team attempts to appeal his conviction.
Last week, Tory Lanez’s legal representatives held a press conference claiming to have new evidence that could potentially shift public opinion. According to their statements, Kelsey Harris’ bodyguard allegedly overheard her admitting to being the one who shot Megan — not Lanez. However, Megan’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, is calling this narrative baseless.
“These are unsworn rumors being spread as fact,” Spiro told Billboard. “Despite Mr. Lanez being convicted at trial by overwhelming evidence — including his own admission of guilt — he and his team continue to spread misleading information with the help of anyone willing to join the circus.”
Spiro didn’t hold back, calling those behind these narratives “foolish bullies” who are retraumatizing a proven victim of violence.
“One by one, their false claims unravel. The simple truth remains: Tory Lanez was convicted by a jury. The evidence was clear. The continued effort to gaslight the public and harass the victim should be condemned.”
Megan Thee Stallion Responds to Tory Lanez on Social Media
Shortly after the press conference, Megan Thee Stallion took to social media with a powerful response to the ongoing harassment.
“TORY PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE. You are a f**king demon,” she wrote. “At what point are y’all gonna stop making me relive being shot BY TORY!? At what point are Tory and his fans gonna stop lying? How much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening EVERY DAY?”
Celebrities Rally Around Megan
In the wake of the controversy, several high-profile celebrities have shown support for Megan. SZA voiced her frustration in an Instagram comment, writing:
“The density!!!!! I’m actually SO shocked at the amount of people fully comfortable bullying a woman who’s proven to be a victim of assault — out loud, where other people can see you? LMAO. Y’all really finna be stupid OUT LOUD?”
Charlamagne Tha God also weighed in on The Breakfast Club, calling the ongoing harassment “frustrating” and unjust.
