Megan Thee Stallion Gets Five-Year Restraining Order Against Tory Lanez
Megan Thee Stallion has taken decisive legal action to protect herself from Tory Lanez. On Thursday, January 9, a Los Angeles judge granted the rapper a five-year restraining order against Lanez. This decision came after Megan provided emotional testimony via video, expressing her ongoing fear for her safety.
During her testimony, Megan revealed the lasting impact of the 2020 shooting incident and her concerns about Lanez’s potential actions once he is released from prison. “I feel like maybe he’ll shoot me again,” she stated. “And maybe this time I won’t make it.” Her words underscored the deep sense of vulnerability she continues to feel. Legal reporter Meghann Cuniff shared key excerpts from Megan’s testimony, highlighting the gravity of her fears.
Ongoing Harassment Allegations
Megan also accused Lanez of continuing to “terrorize” her from behind bars, alleging that he orchestrated a campaign of misinformation through bloggers. One prominent blogger, Milagro Gramz, is currently facing a lawsuit from Megan for alleged “years of harassment.” Megan’s legal team presented evidence, including Zelle payments from Lanez’s father to the blogger, which they claim were part of this campaign.
Lanez’s legal team, however, denied any connection between these payments and the rapper’s case. “The legal process will prove 100% without a shadow of a doubt that they had nothing to do with Mr. Daystar Peterson or his case at all,” his attorney stated.

The restraining order prohibits Lanez from contacting Megan for five years, including after his release from prison. Lanez’s attorney asserted that the rapper has no interest in communicating with Megan. “He has no desire to communicate with petitioner [Megan] ever again,” the lawyer said.
Tory Lanez, who is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020, is expected to remain in prison until 2033. This restraining order provides Megan with an additional layer of protection as she continues to rebuild her life after the ordeal.

Judge now mulling Megan's request hinted he was leaning toward granting:
“We have a shooting that took place, & with a violent act like that, there’s a ripple effect that continues on," judge said. "Ms. Pete’s testimony is that the ripple effect has been significant”
