The controversy centers on posts from Akademiks and Gramz that appeared at the same time, claiming Tory Lanez’s DNA wasn’t found on the gun used in the 2022 shooting. This information was shared while the DNA results were still under a court-ordered seal. In reality, the test results were inconclusive, not an exoneration for Lanez.

Megan’s lawyers argue that someone on Lanez’s side leaked the false information to both bloggers. In a recent court filing, they wrote, “Ms. Pete seeks discovery to prove that Peterson or his surrogates leaked that information…to Cooper and Allen.” The filing states that identifying the source is crucial to proving a coordinated effort to spread false claims and discredit Megan.
