On Tuesday, Master P took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message for his longtime collaborator and friend. His tribute featured an A.I.-generated recreation of Young Bleed’s classic 1998 album cover, My Balls & My Word — a project that marked one of the defining moments in No Limit’s late-’90s dominance.
In his caption, Master P wrote:
“We lost another Soldier Gone too Soon @therealyoungbleed Rest in Paradise. Our prayers go out to his family.”
The touching post quickly drew an outpouring of love from fans, who filled the comments with memories and condolences.
One supporter reminisced:
“He was jumping up and down the whole verse at the Verzuz. He was happy as hell to be with y’all on stage.”
Another fan added:
“Glad he got his final performance on a worldwide stage.”
And a third wrote:
“He went out like a true warrior. RIP Young Bleed.”
Final Performance on the Verzuz Stage
Just days before his passing, Young Bleed delivered what would become his final performance, performing his iconic 1998 hit “How Ya Do Dat” — the track that put him on the map and helped solidify his place in Southern rap history.
The Verzuz event, which united some of the most influential names from the No Limit and Cash Money eras, also featured appearances from Master P, Snoop Dogg, and other rap legends. Following the show, reports surfaced that Young Bleed had been hospitalized in critical condition, with a woman identifying herself as his sister asking fans for prayers as he remained in the ICU.
Confirmation from His Family
The tragic news of Young Bleed’s passing was later confirmed by his eldest son, Ty’Gee Ramon Clifton, who shared an emotional message on Instagram:
“RIP to the biggest legend I know… Young Bleed!!! Love u Dad so much and will definitely miss u… but imma carry the torch from here. I got u 💔 #youngbleed #mydad #myfather @therealyoungbleed”
Ty’Gee added that his father “went out in style” — a fitting tribute to an artist who helped define Louisiana’s rap identity and remained proud of his roots until the end.
Legacy of a No Limit Soldier
Young Bleed rose to prominence in the late 1990s under the No Limit Records banner, where he became known for his smooth Southern drawl, storytelling, and raw lyrical honesty. His debut album, My Balls & My Word, remains a cult classic among hip-hop fans and helped pave the way for many Baton Rouge artists who followed in his footsteps.
As the No Limit family and the broader hip-hop community pay tribute, Young Bleed’s influence continues to echo through generations of Southern rap.
“Gone too soon, but never forgotten,” as one fan commented — a sentiment felt across the culture.
Rest in power, Young Bleed (1974–2025).
