Marlon Wayans Says Tupac Had “That Look” Before Getting Killed

Marlon Wayans, Omar Epps, and Tupac Shakur were close friends who met and bonded during the early stages of their careers.

All three attended the same high school, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City, which helped spark their friendship. They shared similar backgrounds and aspirations, which brought them closer together.

Omar Epps and Tupac Shakur starred together in the 1992 film “Juice,” which was a significant project for both of their careers. Marlon Wayans was also originally considered for a role in the film, but he did not end up being cast. Despite not being in the movie, Marlon maintained his friendship with both Omar and Tupac.

Marlon Wayans has spoken about his friendship with Tupac, recalling how they would hang out and support each other in their respective endeavors. He has often shared personal stories that highlight their bond, such as Tupac attending events for Marlon and always showing him love and support.

THE NIGHT TUPAC SHAKUR WAS MURDERED

On the night of September 7, 1996, Tupac attended a Mike Tyson boxing match against Bruce Seldon at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Tupac was there with Suge Knight, the CEO of Death Row Records, and other members of their entourage.

Marlon Wayans spoke with Shannon Sharpe and described what he felt the rap icon was thinking through his facial expression when he saw him moments before his passing. It appeared to Marlon and Omar Epps that Tupac was no longer the free spirit they knew him to be earlier in his career.

 

After six days in the hospital, Tupac Shakur succumbed to his injuries on September 13, 1996, due to respiratory failure and cardiac arrest.Though they went on different paths, Marlon as a comedian and actor, Omar as an actor, and Tupac as a rapper and actor, they all made significant impacts in entertainment during the 1990s. Their connections highlight a moment when rising stars in film, television, and music supported each other during their rise to fame.
