Malcolm Jamal Warner Criticizes Hip-Hop for Becoming Anti-Black
Actor Malcolm Jamal Warner has voiced his concerns about the current state of Hip-Hop, arguing that it has become anti-Black. In an interview with Peachtree TV, he elaborated on his perspective.
“When you listen to the Hip-Hop getting exposure,” Warner began, “the messages that dominate are misogyny, murder, mayhem, and disrespect towards fellow Black people.
“It seems impossible to have a popular Hip-Hop song without the use of the n-word. Our Black music has turned anti-Black, and it’s become so normalized that we barely notice it. The conditioning and programming are incredibly powerful.”
