Lil Rod Fears Safety & Says Being Blackballed After Diddy Case

Lil Rod Speaks Out About Lawsuit Against Diddy Amid Safety Concerns and Financial Struggles

Producer Lil Rod opened up for the first time since filing a lawsuit against Diddy, which includes allegations of sexual assault, sex trafficking, and racketeering. In an interview with Rolling Stone published on Tuesday (August 27), Lil Rod detailed his ongoing fears for his safety after accusing the hip-hop mogul in a high-profile legal battle. Diddy recently filed a motion on August 26, seeking to have the lawsuit dismissed with prejudice.

“There have been too many people trying to figure out where I’m at,” Lil Rod explained. “I’ve moved locations, moved states. Everything is private. My mom doesn’t even know where I live. It’s been like that pretty much all year.”

ALLEGED THREATS TO LIL ROD

Lil Rod revealed that he has received threats since filing the lawsuit, forcing him to hire security for his public appearances. These security concerns have limited his ability to collaborate with other artists. Despite the difficulties, he managed to perform with T-Pain in Los Angeles in June and attended 50 Cent’s Humor & Harmony festival in Shreveport in August.

“I’ve never had so many threats coming at me at once,” Lil Rod said. “Diddy has a lot of people on his payroll in different places. He’s very connected. It’s made me nervous about traveling. I even ask hotels to remove my name from the records. When I landed in L.A., knowing Diddy has connections there, I was worried. I masked my face, changed outfits, and tried to disguise myself. I felt uncomfortable, paranoid, and afraid. But I told myself, you can’t keep living like this. I’ve got three therapists now.”

BLACKBALLED BY THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?

Lil Rod also believes he has been blackballed by the industry since suing Diddy. He admitted to struggling with suicidal thoughts and financial difficulties, sharing that T-Pain was one of the few who continued to support him during this tough time.

“I’m broke,” Lil Rod revealed. “I have no source of income right now. Every month, I’m just trying to figure out how to pay the bills. I had my phone turned off for 24 hours. A lot of people are just sitting back and watching. But T-Pain is a real friend. His team made sure I was safe to work the show in L.A., and that felt good. But there should be more artists like T-Pain standing by me.”

Lil Rod, along with several women, has sued Diddy for sexual assault and other misconduct over the past year. Diddy is also under federal investigation for sex trafficking. On Monday (August 26), Diddy’s legal team requested that the judge dismiss Lil Rod’s lawsuit, calling the claims “pure fiction.”
