Lil Nas X Speaks Out After Shocking Arrest

Lil Nas X has broken his silence following a recent felony arrest that saw the star spend the weekend behind bars. The “Old Town Road” singer was arrested last week in Studio City after police responded to reports of a man allegedly walking naked through the streets.

He was booked on three counts of felony battery with injury on a police officer and one count of felony resisting an executive officer. On Monday, he was released after posting a $75,000 bail.

On Tuesday, Lil Nas X addressed the situation in a video on his Instagram Story, telling fans, “Your girl is gonna be okay, boo. Okay? S—‘s gonna be all right.”

He added, “That was f—ing terrifying. That was a terrifying last four days. But your girl is gonna be all right.”

Family and Legal Team Respond

Lil Nas X’s attorney, Drew Findling, defended the star, telling reporters, “He’s never been in trouble for a split second in his existence, we’re not going to let one little event change the trajectory of his amazing life.”

The artist’s father, Robert Stafford, also commented to TMZ, stating his son was “in good spirits” and “very remorseful for what happened.” Stafford added, “He’s gonna get the help that he needs, and just keep him in your prayers.”

The Legal Fallout

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office appears to be taking the case seriously according to Hollywood Reporter. In a press release, District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman stated, “Attacking police officers is more than just a crime against those individuals but a direct threat to public safety. Anyone who assaults law enforcement will face serious consequences, no matter who they are or how famous they may be.”

Lil Nas X is scheduled to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing on September 15. If convicted, he could face up to five years in state prison.
