Lil Durk Hit with New Stalking Charge Linked to 2022
Chicago rapper Lil Durk is facing even more legal trouble in an already complex case.
On May 1, new court documents revealed that Durk, born Durk Banks, has been charged with stalking resulting in death—a federal offense that adds another layer to his ongoing legal battle. Prosecutors allege that Durk’s actions contributed to the murder of Saviay’a Robinson, the cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, in August 2022 as reported by TMZ.
The case has taken numerous turns since Durk was incarcerated in October 2024, but this latest development could be the most serious yet. Although officials have clarified that Durk’s music is not on trial, they continue to argue that he poses a flight risk and remains a person of interest in the wider investigation.
Interestingly, the new indictment removes previously cited rap lyrics that prosecutors had claimed referred to the murder. Durk’s legal team strongly opposed the use of his music as evidence, arguing it infringed on his artistic freedom and unfairly biased the case.
Durk has yet to make a public statement, and his legal team is expected to continue pushing back as the case moves forward. With one of hip-hop’s most influential artists now tied to a high-profile homicide case, fans are closely watching how it all unfolds.
