Legal Turmoil Involving Diddy and Mary J. Blige Taking an “Emotional Toll” on Misa Hylton, Says Attorney

As high-profile legal battles unfold involving Sean “Diddy” Combs and Mary J. Blige, stylist and entrepreneur Misa Hylton is reportedly feeling the strain.

According to her attorney Nicholas Ramcharitar, the ongoing cases have taken a significant “emotional toll” on Hylton, who is navigating both Diddy’s criminal trial and a lawsuit she and rapper Vado have filed against Blige. Ramcharitar spoke to AllHipHop in a recent interview, sharing insight into Hylton’s mindset and priorities during this challenging time.

“The number one thing I can say about Misa Hylton is that she is a wonderful mother,” Ramcharitar stated. “She has beautiful kids. Both Christian and Justin are fantastic young men. I’ve had the opportunity to meet them, work with them in some capacity, and it’s clear they are a testament to how well Misa and Sean raised them.”

DIDDY TRIAL UNDERWAY

He added that with Diddy’s criminal trial now underway and her children remaining close to their father, maintaining stability has been difficult: “It’s been tough.”

Hylton is also involved in a legal dispute with longtime music icon Mary J. Blige, stemming from allegations that Blige withheld the release of Vado’s album unless he severed ties with Hylton. According to Ramcharitar, Hylton made repeated efforts to avoid pursuing legal action.

“She’d call me five, six times a day, and reach out to my office constantly, asking, ‘How do we keep her out of this? How do we not involve Mary?’” he explained. “Because she didn’t want this. It’s not what she needed right now.”

Despite attempts to resolve the matter privately over the past year, the situation ultimately escalated. “The breach had serious financial consequences for Misa, and it left Vado in limbo,” Ramcharitar said. “This is not something we wanted to do.”

Diddy’s Trial Begins

Meanwhile, jury selection began Monday for Diddy’s criminal trial in New York. According to The New York Post, the music mogul appeared in court wearing a sweater and collared shirt and admitted to the judge that he was feeling “nervous.”

Jury selection is expected to continue through the week, with opening statements scheduled to begin on Monday, May 12.
