Claressa Shields may have had past drama with Remy Ma, but the boxing champ is focused on positivity these days. Still, that didn’t stop Keke Palmer from stirring things up—just a little.

During a recent conversation with Palmer and Ryan Destiny, who plays Shields in The Fire Inside, Palmer couldn’t resist bringing up the fighter’s history with the rapper.

“So, when are you knocking Remy Ma out?” Palmer quipped, sparking laughter from both Destiny and Shields.

For those who missed it, back in December, Remy Ma shocked social media when she accused Shields of having a romantic relationship with her estranged husband, Papoose. Shields, caught completely off guard, woke up to the unexpected allegations.

“I was just as surprised as everybody else,” Shields recalled. “I woke up like, ‘What the hell? Oh, my God. What’s going on?’ I just wanted to promote my movie, and suddenly, I was in the middle of this!”

Despite the unexpected drama, the Olympic gold medalist took it all in stride.

“They say all publicity is good publicity,” she said. “At the end of the day, it’s not about the problem—it’s about how you handle it. And I think I handled it well.”

At one point, Shields even playfully challenged the Conceited rapper to a boxing match. However, nothing ever came of it, and the situation seems to have fizzled out.
