Kanye West Wishes For Drake To Speak At His Funeral
Despite their turbulent history, Kanye West showed unexpected love to Drake on Wednesday in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
West shared an apology to the Toronto rapper, admitting that jealousy had fueled their past conflict. He revealed that after watching an old video of Drake showcasing his collection of rhyme books, he regretted their feud. In a surprising turn, West declared that he wants Drake to deliver a speech at his funeral.
“I SAW A VIDEO OF DRAKE WALKING THROUGH HIS HOUSE AND SHOWING HE HAD A LIBRARY OF RHYME BOOKS,” West wrote. “MAN, I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN AND REMEMBERED THIS WHEN MY JEALOUSY OVERTOOK ME… I LOVE DRAKE. IMA SAY THIS—WHEN I DIE, I NEED YOU TO SPEAK AT MY FUNERAL.”

Fans had mixed reactions to the post. Some celebrated the moment, with one user commenting, “At least he’s honest about been jealous of Drake” Another added, “Ye is chasing clout with every chance he gets.” However, others were skeptical, predicting that their rocky relationship would take another downturn. “I miss Ye and Drake together,” one user wrote.
Kanye and Drake have had a complicated relationship over the years, with tensions peaking in 2021 during the lead-up to their albums Certified Lover Boy and Donda. After trading diss tracks, the two seemingly reconciled for the Free Larry Hoover benefit concert, only to reignite their feud later. Most recently, in 2024, West teased a remix of Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar’s track, “Like That.”
West’s latest comments about Drake are just one of many headline-making moments from the rapper in recent days. He has sparked outrage for praising Adolf Hitler, calling himself a Nazi, and taking shots at Taylor Swift. Additionally, he has used his Yeezy merchandise platform to sell controversial t-shirts featuring swastikas, drawing widespread backlash.
