Kanye Clashes with Lyor Cohen Over Open Letter on Antisemitism

Kanye West has taken aim at music executive Lyor Cohen in a heated Instagram post after Cohen addressed West’s antisemitic remarks in an open letter. In a now-deleted post, West shared a screenshot of Cohen’s letter and accused him of hypocrisy, claiming that the music industry profits from violence in hip-hop while condemning him.

“LEE OR, let me call you by your incorrect name also. You and your whole industry have promoted and profited from songs where Black people glorify killing each other, but my t-shirt is the worst thing ever,” West wrote. He then referenced an encounter with fashion designer Tory Burch before demanding that Cohen take responsibility for what he called the “massive promotion of Black death.” West also questioned Cohen’s financial status, adding, “You’re too broke to speak to me in the first place.” He ended his post with a crude remark referencing a comment allegedly made by Irv before his passing.
Lyor Cohen’s Response

In his letter, Cohen expressed his concerns over West’s recent statements, writing that he was “disappointed and troubled” by the rapper’s rhetoric.

“Your words and actions are not only offensive but triggering to all decent people who recognize the horrors of the Holocaust and the suffering of millions,” Cohen stated. “With antisemitism on the rise, your voice and influence carry a significant responsibility. I urge you to be more sensitive to the pain your words inflict on Jewish communities and all those who stand against hate.”

Cohen encouraged West to use his platform to “heal and inspire” rather than spread division.

KANYE RETURNS TO X PLATFORM

It appears that Ye’s account has been wiped clean, as his follower count has dropped from millions to around 20,000 at the time of writing. Additionally, his page is currently empty, with no posts visible. Fans are speculating whether he will resurface with more controversial content, potentially provoking various groups and communities. For now, things remain quiet, but time will tell if this divisive and predictable “social experiment” makes a return.
