Joe Budden Admits Being A Rat Over Jay-Z & Beanie Sigel Debate

Jay-Z Denies Allegations of Betrayal in Beanie Sigel’s Trial, Joe Budden Reveals

Joe Budden recently shared on his podcast that he received a text from Jay-Z addressing claims made about his testimony in Beanie Sigel’s 2004 attempted murder trial.

Fans have been revisiting the trial, scrutinizing Jay-Z’s testimony. Former Roc-A-Fella rapper Oschino alleged that Jay-Z’s time on the stand was not beneficial to Sigel. He recounted in an interview with Say Cheese earlier this month that when asked if he would take legal responsibility for Sigel’s actions, Jay-Z declined.

This sparked a debate about whether Jay-Z was wrong for his stance. On The Joe Budden Podcast, Budden and his co-hosts discussed the issue, largely agreeing they would have done the same in Jay-Z’s position and didn’t fault him for avoiding liability. However, they questioned why Jay-Z attended the court proceedings if he wasn’t fully supporting Sigel.

Joe Budden Shares Jay-Z’s Response

In a recent podcast episode, Budden revealed he received a text from Jay-Z regarding the segment after it aired. Budden speculated that Jay-Z might have been under the influence when he sent the message. “He says cap, the story’s cap,” Budden recounted. “He said, ‘Some sh*t so st*pid, you think it won’t grow legs but then you n***as…’” Budden apologized for discussing it, humorously calling himself a “rat” and acknowledging that it wasn’t his business.

Despite Jay-Z’s apparent denial of refusing to vouch for Sigel, Oschino stood by his account, claiming he witnessed the event. “I was just thinking, ‘What did he come to court for then?’ If I got a homie and all I gotta say is, ‘I’m responsible for him for him to get out,’ I’m saying it every time,” Oschino argued.

What are your thoughts on Joe Budden’s revelation about Jay-Z‘s text and the ongoing debate about his testimony in Beanie Sigel’s attempted murder trial?
