Jay-Z’s Accuser May Pursue Criminal Charges, Says Attorney Tony Buzbee

Jay-Z’s accuser might heed the rapper’s recent suggestion to file a criminal complaint against him, according to her attorney, Tony Buzbee. This comes after she filed a civil lawsuit alleging sexual assault.

In an emailed statement to TMZ, Buzbee confirmed the possibility of pursuing rape charges against the music mogul with New York authorities. “What happens next is up to my client,” he said. “It’s her case, and you’ll find out what she decides to do in due course.”

Under New York state law, there is no statute of limitations for first-degree felony rape complaints. Earlier this week, Buzbee filed a civil suit accusing Jay-Z and Diddy of drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl at a party following the MTV Music Awards in 2000.

JAY Z RESPONSE

In response to the allegations, Jay-Z released a statement calling the claims “so heinous in nature” and urged the accuser to file a criminal complaint rather than a civil lawsuit. “Whoever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away. Would you not agree?” he said.

Buzbee fired back at Jay-Z’s remarks, telling TMZ, “I typically don’t take advice from an alleged perpetrator whose defense relies entirely on silly personal attacks.”

The direction of the case regarding criminal charges remains uncertain. However, Buzbee has shown no hesitation in pursuing legal action against high-profile figures.

Initially, the civil lawsuit filed in October named Diddy as the sole defendant, accusing him and an unnamed celebrity of sexually assaulting the plaintiff, referred to as “Jane Doe,” while another woman allegedly witnessed the assault.

BUZBEE ALLEGES JAY Z IS DOING EXTORTION

The lawyer went to social media and posted on X formerly twitter the following:

“Investigators” from New York have called many of our law firm’s current and former clients. What they didn’t anticipate was one of the clients decided to record the conversation. It’s shocking, and illegal.

Here is a portion taken from the transcript: INVESTIGATOR: “In a couple of days or maybe by next week, anyone Googling Buzbee and his company — his practice — are going into litigation. Okay? What we’re trying to do is, we are trying put this thing together for the company that we’re working for– We could get you paid, . . . you could get money right soon, you know? We gave this kid 1,000 bucks to start yesterday just to get him on the right path. At the end of the day, this is going to go through the courts, Buzbee is getting sued . . .” These guys are on tape offering to pay clients to sue our law firm. That’s a crime.
