Jay-Z Responds to Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Diddy
Jay-Z and Diddy have been named in a new lawsuit accusing them of sexually assaulting a teenager. The allegations date back to an MTV after-party in 2000, following the MTV Video Music Awards. The lawsuit, filed by an anonymous plaintiff, accuses the two music moguls of assaulting a then-13-year-old girl. NBC News reported on the lawsuit Sunday evening (Dec. 8), marking a significant development in the case.
The initial lawsuit, filed in October, named Sean Combs (Diddy) as the sole defendant. However, the re-filed civil suit now includes Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter. The plaintiff alleges the assault occurred at a house party where she had been invited and offered alcohol and drugs.
In her statement, the plaintiff claims she felt “woozy and lightheaded” after consuming a drink. She sought refuge in a bedroom, believing it to be unoccupied. According to the lawsuit, Diddy entered the room accompanied by a male and a female celebrity. The plaintiff alleges that Diddy approached her, saying, “You are ready to party,” before she was restrained and assaulted by Diddy and Jay-Z, while the female celebrity watched.
Quinn Emanuel, which represents Jay Z in various things, issued this after suing Buzbee for extortion on behalf of anonymous celebrity who is now obviously Jay Z.

Jay-Z has vehemently denied the allegations, issuing a statement Sunday night where he labeled the claims as “blackmail.” He also called on the plaintiff’s legal team to file criminal charges if the accusations were genuine. “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one,” he stated.
This lawsuit marks the first time Jay-Z has been implicated in any case of sexual assault alongside Diddy. Meanwhile, Diddy is currently facing over a dozen sexual assault lawsuits. These include claims stemming from a previous high-profile case involving his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, which was settled in December 2023. Despite the mounting allegations, Diddy’s legal team has consistently maintained his innocence. “In court, the truth will prevail: Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor,” his lawyers stated.
The re-emergence of these allegations comes as Netflix works on a documentary about the sexual assault claims against Diddy, with 50 Cent serving as an executive producer. The high-profile nature of the case and the involvement of major celebrities have ensured that it remains in the spotlight, prompting calls for greater scrutiny and transparency in the entertainment industry.

Yes because the scrutiny is greater in criminal case. It’s beyond reasonable doubt (all pun intended)
