Jay-Z Denies Paternity Lawsuit From Rymir Satterthwaite, Labels Claims as Decades-Long Harassment
Jay-Z Responds to Rymir Satterthwaite’s Paternity Lawsuit, Requests Dismissal in Federal Court
Music mogul Jay-Z is firing back in court after a man named Rymir Satterthwaite renewed long-standing claims that he is the rapper’s biological son. Satterthwaite, who has made the allegation for over a decade, recently filed a new federal lawsuit accusing Jay-Z of refusing a paternity test and using legal power to silence him.
Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, has now requested that the lawsuit be dismissed, calling the claims “fabricated” and part of a “decades-long harassment campaign,” according to new court filings obtained by Us Weekly. The Roc Nation founder argues that these same allegations have been addressed and rejected in multiple courts over the years.

“The fabricated allegations and claims have been addressed – and rejected – in multiple other courts,” the filing reads, citing a previous contempt order against Satterthwaite for disregarding court rulings.
Jay-Z’s legal team states he only became aware of this new lawsuit on June 3, 2025, and is requesting more time to respond properly. His attorney further claims they attempted to contact Satterthwaite’s guardian to request an extension but were allegedly hung up on.
Rymir Satterthwaite’s Allegations Against Jay-Z
Satterthwaite alleges that his late mother, Wanda, had a brief romantic relationship with Jay-Z in the early 1990s. After her passing, Rymir has reportedly been under the care of his grandmother. He asserts that both he and his family have faced relentless suppression efforts from Jay-Z’s team to cover up the alleged connection.
He also accuses Jay-Z and his associates of using fraudulent tactics to avoid paternity testing and claims he has endured emotional distress, public embarrassment, and mental health complications due to the unresolved allegations.
In his legal filing, Satterthwaite says:
“[Jay-Z] and his enablers have worked to suppress the truth and silence those who dared to speak it.”
Despite multiple legal attempts, Satterthwaite has never been able to compel Jay-Z to take a court-ordered DNA test. Jay-Z, who has three children—Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir Carter—with wife Beyoncé, has consistently denied the claims.
Conclusion
As this high-profile paternity case unfolds once again, Jay-Z remains firm in his legal stance, seeking dismissal of what he calls a pattern of baseless harassment. With the courts set to decide whether the latest lawsuit holds ground, this saga continues to capture attention across the entertainment and legal worlds.
