Jay-Z & Beyoncé Face Backlash Over Seating Near Ivanka Trump & Jared Kushner

This past weekend, Jay-Z and Beyoncé attended the REFORM Alliance Casino Night and Gala at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City. The star-studded fundraiser, hosted by Michael Rubin and Meek Mill, successfully raised $20 million to support criminal justice reform.

While the event itself was a major success, it’s the seating arrangements that have sparked controversy online. Reports circulating on social media claim that the power couple was seated near former President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner. The claim first gained traction through a post by @abenaissance on X (formerly Twitter).

Conflicting Reports

Not all accounts align. Some sources insist that Beyoncé and Jay-Z were seated alone in the middle of the gala, rather than near the Trumps. Despite the uncertainty, images from the event have spread widely, fueling intense speculation and online debate.

Social Media Reaction

Critics were quick to question the Carters’ political stance.

  • “Guess the Kamala endorsement was just to get good PR,” one X user wrote.

  • “All that campaigning for Kamala was clearly a front,” another speculated.

On the other hand, fans rushed to defend the Grammy-winning couple. Many argued that sitting near someone at a charity gala does not equate to sharing political views.

One supporter clapped back:

“Beyoncé wasn’t dancing her a** off while 8 months pregnant with twins to support Hillary Clinton’s campaign for you to be calling her MAGA.”

Another pointed to Beyoncé’s long track record of Democratic support:

“The same Beyoncé that gave a FULL SPEECH at Kamala’s rally? The same Beyoncé that sent Trump a cease and desist for using her song ‘Freedom’? Are we serious right now?”

Beyoncé’s Political Involvement

Beyoncé has publicly aligned herself with Democratic candidates in the past. In October 2024, she appeared at a Kamala Harris rally in Houston, alongside fellow Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland. From the stage, she delivered a passionate introduction:

“It’s time for America to sing a new song. Are y’all ready to add your voice to the new American song? Let’s do this. Ladies and gentlemen, give a big, loud Texas welcome to the next president of the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris.”

Given her history, many fans argue that the backlash over a gala seating chart is overblown.
