Jadakiss Reflects on Iconic Lox vs. Dipset Verzuz: “I Was Out of My Mind That Day”
Jadakiss is still feeling the impact of one of Hip-Hop’s most unforgettable moments — the legendary Verzuz battle between The Lox and Dipset. During a recent episode of the Joe and Jada Podcast, the Yonkers rap veteran gave fans fresh insight into his mental state that night, calling it a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Sitting alongside co-host Fat Joe and special guest MLB star Jazz Chisholm Jr., the conversation turned nostalgic as Fat Joe recalled watching the showdown live.
“Jada at the Verzuz, I thought you were sending shots at me!” Joe joked. “I was in the crowd like, ‘Yo Jada, what’s going on? Do I need to rent this building?’ You were going at Cam’ron crazy. What were you thinking?”
Jadakiss responded with brutal honesty:
“I was out of my mind that day,” he admitted. “I wasn’t on anything, but the zone I was in — it felt like I was on Adderall. It was a different headspace. I had never been like that before.”
When asked by Chisholm if the battle had any personal tension behind it, Jadakiss quickly clarified:
“Nah, not really. Those are our brothers. It was just a moment — like a sports moment. A Hip-Hop moment.”
