Ice-T Caught on Video in Heated Exchange with Police Officer
Ice-T found himself in a tense exchange with a police officer during a traffic stop in New Jersey last May. The incident, captured on body camera and recently released, escalated to the point where the rapper and actor referred to the officer as a “fking ahole.”
The encounter began when the officer pulled Ice-T over for driving with expired plates—plates that had been expired since 2021. Ice-T explained that he was on his way to the DMV to resolve the issue, but the officer questioned him, asking, “Do you have an appointment?” Ice-T responded confidently, “I don’t need one. They know me.”
The situation quickly became heated. When the officer stated that the Porsche would need to be towed, Ice-T became visibly frustrated. “If I’m not under arrest, I’m getting out of the car,” he said. “Give me my paperwork, you fking ahole. Give me my f**king paperwork!”
As the argument continued, Ice-T stepped out of the car, acknowledging the body camera recording the scene. “Get this on camera,” he said. “This muthafker… I’m a foot away from the DMV. You’re an ahole!”
The tension eased somewhat when a sergeant arrived on the scene and interacted more amicably with Ice-T. Despite this, the rapper ended up receiving four tickets. The sergeant attempted to intervene, mentioning he had suggested the patrol officer reduce the number of citations to two, but ultimately left the decision to the officer.
Before the situation concluded, the officer handed Ice-T his keys back and advised, “Just show some respect.” Ice-T, however, stood his ground, replying, “I don’t have to.”
