Gunna Goes Global Pays Tribute To 2Pac! All Eyez On Me #TBT

Tupac Shakur’s album All Eyez on Me was released on February 13, 1996—exactly 29 years ago today! It was his fourth studio album and the first double album in hip-hop history, marking a major moment in rap. Released under Death Row Records and Interscope Records, the album came after Tupac’s release from prison, with Suge Knight bailing him out in exchange for signing to Death Row.

All Eyez on Me was a West Coast hip-hop and gangsta rap masterpiece, featuring raw storytelling, braggadocious lyrics, and a celebration of success mixed with paranoia. The album included hit singles like “California Love”, “How Do U Want It”, “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted”, and “I Ain’t Mad at Cha”—all of which became iconic.

GUNNA GOES GLOBAL SINCE 96

All Eyez on Me debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Diamond (over 10 million copies sold). Bay Area rapper, Gunna Goes Global, delivers a tribute to the iconic hip hop artist with the visuals and single for “Since 96.”

One of the most reflective and heartfelt songs from the album is “Life Goes On” as it pertains to Tupac being remembered decades later.

“Bury me smilin’ with G’s in my pocket
Have a party at my funeral, let every rapper rock it
Let the hoes that I used to know from way before
Kiss me from my head to my toe”

Tupac flips the idea of mourning by imagining his own funeral as a celebration rather than a moment of sadness. The song is widely played in tribute to lost loved ones, making it one of the most relatable and timeless tracks in hip-hop history.
