Gene Deal Speaks Out on Diddy’s Arrest & Celebrities Who Influenced Him
Gene Deal Breaks Silence on Diddy’s Arrest
In an interview with The Art of Dialogue, Gene Deal opened up about Diddy’s arrest and how he believes the music mogul became a “monster” under the influence of key figures in the industry. Deal, Diddy’s former head of security, shared that Diddy wasn’t initially involved in heavy drug use or certain behaviors until he learned them from others outside of New York.
While expressing his discomfort with men going to jail and leaving their families behind, Deal acknowledged that some people deserve to be incarcerated for the harm they’ve caused. He specifically named Russell Simmons, Clive Davis, and Andre Harrell as individuals who shaped Sean Combs’ actions and mindset.
Deal recounted witnessing Diddy’s transformation firsthand, sharing a story about Russell Simmons, who admitted to heavy drug use and mistreating women. “It made him into a monster,” Deal said, referencing Diddy’s exposure to these influences.
When asked about his thoughts on Diddy‘s arrest, Deal stated that he believes “karma was bound to catch up with him.” He linked Diddy’s downfall to the deaths of influential figures like Biggie Smalls and Craig Mack, adding that “Diddy will go down as one of the greatest tragedies in hip hop, alongside Pac and Biggie, and he brought it on himself.”
