Federal Prosecutors Present Evidence Alleging Diddy Paid Off Kalenna Harper
Federal authorities have unveiled allegations suggesting Sean “Diddy” Combs paid Kalenna Harper, a former member of his Dirty Money trio, to release a supportive public statement. These claims stem from evidence found during a sweep of Diddy’s jail cell, where notes appeared to reference financial exchanges tied to witness testimony.
Prosecutors assert that the recovered note implicates Harper, referred to in legal documents as “Witness 2,” as a recipient of payments from Diddy. The alleged purpose was to influence her public denial of accusations in a lawsuit filed by another Dirty Money alum, Dawn Richard. Harper had been prominently mentioned in Richard’s lawsuit and issued a public statement on Instagram shortly after reportedly reconnecting with Diddy.
In her post dated September 13, Harper distanced herself from Richard’s claims, stating, “While I fully respect Dawn’s right to recount her experiences… her account reflects her personal perspective and should not be interpreted as a universal truth.” The timing and content of the post, according to prosecutors, coincide with communications between Diddy and Harper, with over 128 messages exchanged leading up to the statement.
DIDDY’S TEAM ACCUSES STATE OF VIOLATING LAWS
The filings further allege that Diddy shared Richard’s lawsuit with Harper on September 11, just days before her public denial. This interaction, federal investigators claim, forms part of a broader strategy to influence key witnesses in ongoing legal disputes. Harper’s statement, paired with the alleged financial exchanges, is now central to the prosecution’s case against the hip-hop mogul.
Diddy’s team states that the materials taken included handwritten notes to his legal team about defense witnesses and strategies for the trial beginning in May.
According to TMZ, Diddy’s legal team sees a violation of the mogul’s Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment rights. Additionally, the team states that the items were handed to the prosecution team.
Diddy’s attorney is now seeking a hearing to clarify what happened, citing the incident as “outrageous government conduct amounting to a substantive due process violation.”
Diddy’s next court appearance is set for November 22, where he will make his 5th motion for bond to get out of the notorious Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
