Drake’s High-Tech Toilets Play 2Pac Songs & Some Wonder Why

Drake’s love for luxury isn’t new, but even his toilets are making headlines — and not just for being state-of-the-art. Apparently, the rapper has programmable toilets in his mansion that blast 2Pac songs when the lid opens. And while this odd flex surfaced back in 2023, it’s taken on a whole new layer of meaning in light of his more recent feud with Kendrick Lamar.

During a visit to Drake’s estate last year, Lil Yachty revealed that the toilets played 2Pac’s infamous diss track “Hit ‘Em Up,” a detail that immediately caught fire online for its over-the-top absurdity. Fast-forward to now, and producer GORDO — a frequent Drake collaborator — mentioned the toilets again in a tweet. “When you use the bathroom at Drake’s house usually the toilet will play 2Pac,” he wrote, “but today I changed one toilet to play HEALING and the other one to play SIDEWAYS,” referencing their new music.

The 2Pac connection hits differently after Drake used AI-generated versions of Tupac’s voice — along with Snoop Dogg’s — to take shots at Kendrick Lamar in his now-infamous “Taylor Made Freestyle.” That track dropped before Kendrick fired back with “euphoria,” and Drake’s earlier bars tried to bait him by invoking the spirit of West Coast legends. Songs like “Family Matters” followed suit, tossing in more indirect jabs rooted in 2Pac references without targeting the late rapper himself. But once Kendrick responded with “Not Like Us,” it felt like the mic had officially dropped in the 2Pac debate.

Drake’s subtle jabs haven’t stopped, though. He recently bought another Pharrell piece — a flashy N.E.R.D. brain chain — despite the fact that Pharrell has shown zero interest in the drama. While the 2Pac toilets might not be part of the same calculated trolling, people can’t help but connect the dots. Even if Drake’s been rocking them since 2023, the timing — and the track choice — feels pointed.
