Drake Unleashes “Push Ups” Diss Track On Kendrick Lamar
Drake has officially unleashed his Kendrick Lamar diss track, “Push Ups,” across all streaming platforms, accompanied by provocative cover art mocking Kendrick’s shoe size. Originally leaked on YouTube a week ago, the song emerged as an unexpected bombshell, stirring speculation among fans about its authenticity until Drake confirmed its release on DSPs.
In the scathing track, Drake not only diminishes Kendrick’s stature in the rap hierarchy by denying his inclusion in the “Big 3,” but also takes shots at other industry heavyweights like Future, Metro Boomin, and The Weeknd. He derides Future for apparent disloyalty and boasts about his international appeal, while also questioning The Weeknd’s allegiance to their shared hometown, Toronto.
LYRICAL LASHING
“How the f**k you big steppin’ with a size 7 men’s on?/This the bark with the bite, n***a, what’s up?/I know my picture on the wall when y’all cook up/Extortion baby, whole career you been shook up/’Cause Top told you drop and give me 50 like some push-ups, huh/Your last one bricked, you really not on s**t/They make excuses for you ’cause they hate to see me lit/Pull your contract ’cause we gotta see the split/And the way you doin’ splits, b***h, your pants might rip/You better do that muthaf**kin’ show inside the bitty/Maroon 5 need a verse, you better make it witty/Then we need a verse for the Swifties/Top say drop, you better drop and give ’em 50,” Drake raps.
This long-awaited response from Drake comes in the wake of Kendrick’s verse on “Like That,” featured on Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative album. With J. Cole briefly entering the fray with his own diss track before retracting it, all eyes turned to Drake to deliver the knockout blow, making “Push Ups” a pivotal moment in the ongoing feud.
While Rick Ross has been the sole artist to officially retaliate with his track “Champagne Moments,” the anticipation surrounding Drake’s response has undoubtedly heightened the stakes in this escalating rap rivalry.
