Drake Preps ICEMAN Album & 2026 Tour Aimed at Kendrick Lamar
Drake Reportedly Planning To Challenge Kendrick Lamar’s Touring Dominance With Upcoming ICEMAN Era
Drake is gearing up for a massive return, and according to DJ Akademiks, the Toronto superstar is preparing far more than just his anticipated ninth studio album.
A New Album — and a Major Statement
Drake’s next project, ICEMAN, does not yet have an official release date, but insiders insist it’s arriving soon. Akademiks, who has been teasing updates for weeks, claims Drake is deep in album mode and fully focused on delivering something his fans have been waiting for.
“Drake been off the road, he’s cooking up… The stove is hot,” Ak said during a recent stream, adding that the rapper told him directly that the creative process is in full swing. The media personality urged fans to let Drake work without distractions, saying, “Let my boy cook… when he’s done cheffing, we’re gonna have a good time.”
A 2026 Global Tour to Rival Kendrick Lamar?
Akademiks says Drake is gearing up for the “Iceman” tour and he’s coming directly for Kendrick’s global crown.
Drake already owns the U.S. touring record but Kendrick holds the worldwide title.

Beyond the music, Ak says Drake is already plotting his next major move — a worldwide tour in 2026 designed to compete with Kendrick Lamar’s recent dominance.
Kendrick currently holds the record for the highest-grossing hip-hop tour ever thanks to his Grand National run with SZA, while Drake continues to reign as the top-grossing rapper within the United States. According to Akademiks, Drizzy wants to take things a step further.
“I think Drake wants to beat the world record going into next year,” Ak claimed. “He’s saying, ‘If I’m gonna have an agent, my agent’s not gonna rep my opp. F*ck that.’”
The comments imply that Drake is aiming to dethrone Kendrick on the global stage and reclaim touring supremacy.
Momentum Building Ahead of ICEMAN
This isn’t the first hint Ak has dropped. Earlier this month, he revealed that Drake has been fully immersed in studio sessions and intentionally avoiding livestreams, collaborations, and outside noise as he finalizes the album.
With excitement building and competition heating up, fans appear ready for another major era from “The Boy.” If ICEMAN and a blockbuster 2026 tour arrive as rumored, Drake may be setting up one of the biggest comebacks of his career — and possibly hip-hop history.
