Drake and The Weeknd Appear to Have Tension in Resurfaced “100 Gigs” Clip

A resurfaced clip from Drake’s “100 Gigs” update shows some possible tension between the rapper and The Weeknd. The footage, filmed backstage during OVO Fest 2013, captures Drake greeting everyone in the room except The Weeknd. He jokes around with the group but only acknowledges The Weeknd’s presence just before the clip cuts off.

Fans on social media quickly picked up on the awkward moment, speculating that the two artists may not have been on good terms for years. One user on X (formerly Twitter) commented, “You can tell Abel does not fw him lol.” Another pointed out how Drake quickly ended the footage right as he was about to greet The Weeknd, calling him “slimey.” Others took a more reflective approach, reminiscing on The Weeknd’s rise to stardom. “Seeing this footage reminds me of how far The Weeknd has come since 2013. OVO Fest was iconic,” a fan wrote.

This resurfaced moment follows an earlier diss from The Weeknd, featured on Future and Metro Boomin’s track “All to Myself,” where he took shots at Drake. In the song, The Weeknd sings, “I thank God that I never signed my life away… They shooters makin’ TikToks / Got us laughin’ in the Lambo (Yeah).” Drake later responded with a jab on his track “Push Ups.”

Kanye West Also Appears on 100 Gigs

The Weeknd wasn’t the only notable artist featured in Drake’s “100 Gigs.” The update also includes a clip of Kanye West from OVO Fest 2013, where he praised Drake on stage. West credited the Toronto rapper for pushing him and JAY-Z to release their collaborative album Watch The Throne in 2011.
