DMX Anniversary of Passing: Ruff Ryders Honor Icon At Graveside
In the realm of hip-hop, the sorrow of losing talented artists often hits harder than in other musical genres. Whether through gun violence or drug overdoses, the premature departure of gifted lyricists remains a painful reality. Such was the case for DMX, who tragically passed away at the age of 50 on April 9, 2021, due to a drug overdose. Three years have elapsed since his untimely demise, yet those closest to the versatile artist continue to honor his legacy, especially on the anniversary of his passing.
The team at Ruff Ryders Entertainment took it upon themselves to commemorate DMX. Sharing glimpses of their visit to the rapper’s gravesite at Yonkers’ Oakland Cemetery, they reminisced about some of the iconic moments from the life of the New York native. “Let’s give it to X because he stayed true to himself and he never sold out,” remarked one individual in the poignant video shared below.
